Transtastic Men Project (Calendar)

2008 Calendar:
For those of you who haven't seen or heard, T-Boys, a social/support group in Yorkshire has been working on raising awareness of Trans Men and funds for the Trans community, by creating a 'Calendar Girls' style calendar. I want to send a huge thank you to all those who have contributed to the Transtastic Men Project, especially to those who have taken part and contributed a lot of time, money and effort. I am really happy to say that so far we have raised over £2000 and the figure is still rising! The money raised will be split three ways - FTM Network, Press for Change and the final third going to various regional groups around the UK.

The project has raised an awful lot of awareness around Trans Men and their bodies. Stalls at various pride events around the UK have sparked interest amongst gay men, often questioning their views on the male body and what is hot etc. I was asked to contribute to a seminar at the annual LGB&T Health Summit in Manchester, based on sex, bodies and where the calendar fitted into this. We also had a particular sale which stood out to me - a woman works in a mixed office and they have a calendar which alternates between male and female images. The men in the office always flip it to the female image, so she was determined to find an all male calendar to replace it. She chose ours as she wanted to support Trans people.

Finally, the process of being photographed naked with a group of people who were just the same physically as themselves was a profound experience for some of the guys taking part. It has changed the way that they view themselves, (in a positive way), and has made us feel more confident and sexy. I sincerely wish that all Trans Men could have this experience to boost their own self image.

If you haven't got your calendar, then please contact me, as we still have some available. Don't forget that there are also limited edition prints for sale too. They are excellent quality black and white images and as the name suggests, we are only selling so many of each. They are available in A3 and A4. Thanks for the pictures from the calander, I do have one.
Sometimes we can see changes in our bodies but it takes longer for the way we see our body to change, the way we see and think of ourselves.Perhaps because we spend so many years knowing we are different from what we see? Something like that?
Cheers Mate
